Chairperson
Very
little to report really except I would appreciate any club news
/ reports etc, so as it can be imputed onto our Website. Talking
of which we could purchase our own Domain for £10.00 (to the lay
folk e.g. - www ABC SAC .com Alwyn was given the go ahead as it
was felt a good investment at that price). I am slightly
disappointed that the interest seems to have dropped away on the
small boats front, especially after a good turn out in the July
and August competitions. I do realise that work commitments have
been the main cause, so hopefully matters will return to normal
for the remaining legs. Back to the top
Vice Chairperson
Well this
is going to be short and sweet (I’ll pass on this occasion!),
due to work commitments I have not been as active as I would
have liked, so unfortunately that’s it for me.

Secretary
Firstly
may I thank those in attendance, especially Sid who has
travelled all the way from Wigan. I also apologise for my
in-activity, caused by a heavy mixture of personal and work
commitments. The reason that nobody has received the minutes of
our last meeting is plain and simple (just like me really!), I
put the transcript in a safe place so safe I still have not
found it! At present we have 30 senior members and 21 juniors.
On the junior front I would like to highlight Gethyn’s excellent
efforts which I was privy to during their last Pier leg. Without
taking too much of his thunder, I would just add that it’s no
understatement to say that between Trish and Gethyn they made it
a day / night to remember for everyone concerned. Once again the
club had representation at National level - Colin Thomas and Wyn
Parry both competed at the Home Boat International out of
Caernarfon Bay. This association will strengthen next year as we
have three members on duty who are Colin Thomas, Wyn Parry and
Bob Muirhead. Well done lads.

See
enclosed report.
Charter Boat
This years
trips have been none existent and this has no doubt contributed
to some senior memberships not being renewed. However to combat
this I have booked 12 trips for next year. They are 6 general
trips, 4 wreck trips and 2 tope trips, with various skippers /
ports (see enclosed sheet). To reduce club losses I will be
re-introducing the deposit scheme, as a reminder a £30.00
deposit is required up front before you can book onto any of
these trips (some members already have deposits floating from
previous years). After a short discussion it was agreed that we
restart a league format with the best 6 results to count, also
run on a conservation basis (points per fish). Full details
contact Gethyn on (01248) 716315.

Very quite
to date with no claims submitted for the Tom Hoban Memorial
Trophy.
Sea - Rios Safari’s Caernarfon Open
Thankfully
it was another successful event with a good turnout and catch
returns, also no disputes only praise all round. I think it’s
fair to say we did put a lot more effort into this one, better
pre publicity, making it a Penn League match (back to back with
the Pwllheli match), moving the weighing point as requested and
increasing the funding of table prizes. However, even with all
of that the main reason was once again having a main sponsor, so
a big 'thank you' to Jim Davies and Gethyn Owen. This years
entry was 81 anglers and after all the sums it left us with a
profit of £255.00, but had we not had the 1st prize sponsored
then that would be down to £5.00 (sorry £10.00 as Jim donated
£5.00 into the kitty - nice man!). Everyone that brought fish to
the scales received a prize so happy faces there, the catch
comprised of 38 L.S.Dogfish, 18 Flounder and 1 Dab. The winner
was a local angler, Shane Russell, with a bag weight of 7.06.00
comprising of 3 L.S.D and 2 Flounder. Sadly it was once again it
was the faithful few left to fly the flag!

Caernarfon
Open - 2001
As you can
see by the heading we no longer have a main sponsor, after a
short discussion it was felt that if we could not secure the
services of a main sponsor then based on the profit highlighted
above it would be unwise to hold an event. At this point Bob
Muirhead said he would enquire whether his employers (Grampian
Country Chickens) would be interested in a sponsorship venture.
It was also suggested that if that enquiry was negative we
should consider the avenue of running a junior event, as
companies / people are much more likely to sponsor / donate
prizes for such a cause.

A.O.B
The
W.F.S.A is formulating a Junior Shore International Squad to
enter into next years Home Shore International. As this was the
very first occasion anglers who wish to be considered have to
submit a C.V. to Joe Crowley, for initial consideration then the
elite few attend a mock fish off. It was felt that at the moment
none of our juniors are ready to progress to this level. But
with further guidance by the club and dedication / commitment by
the juniors themselves it will lead to their advancement leading
to a possible opening into the highest honour any angler could
achieve. A request has gone out to all member clubs and even
individuals to support this venture in the form of financial
donations. Again after a short discussion it was agreed to
donate £30.00 towards the cause.
The North Region Personal Members have a new secretary in Gethyn
Owen, if you are interested in more details about this section,
phone him on (01248) 716315.
Dates for next years National boat qualifiers are :-
April 21st
/ 22nd out of Milford Haven
July 21st / 22nd from of Caernarfon Bay
If interested, contact Rob on (01248) 714139 (after 6.30pm).
