Small Boats Section
The officer in charge of the Small Boats Section will arrange a competition series to be fished throughout the calendar year.

Where possible, there will be one competition a month. All members will be made aware of the rules and points system, if applicable.

A points system is used to maximise the competitive nature of angling with a very strong emphasis on conservation.

The first meeting of the Small Boats section was held at the Holland Arms, Gaerwen on Friday 13th (asking for trouble, or what !!) hosted by the new organiser.  The following items were agreed:
  • The format for the competitions will be decided by the members before each event. Therefore come prepared with bait suitable to each venue.
  • Entry fee for each competition is £5 for adults and £2.50 for juniors.
  • The monies from competition fees will be split as follows- 40% for Winner, 20% for the club and 40% for the small boat section which will be set aside in a small boat section fund.
  • The membership of the small boat section will decide how and on what the monies raised from their contribution to the small boat section fund will be spent.
  • The competition will be run on a basis of total honesty. Your word will be your bond. This will help conservation through reduced fish kill and hopefully provide greater enjoyment of our angling activities together.
  • It is hoped that the setting of competition dates does not restrict us getting together outside of them. With many members working shifts, and having days off in the week it is important that we communicate regularly to maintain every bodies interest.
  • All members fishing a competition will be required to help in its running.
  • To help communication can every member provide their contact details to me as soon as possible, including mobile phone numbers.

Please Note Anglesey County Council has proposals for charging members of the public for using nominated slip ways.  There are discounts available for those who can prove their main residence is on Anglesey and further discounts for certain certification.  Click here to find out the details.

If you have any thoughts or disagree with any of the proposals, please feel free to contact the current organiser, Mr. Owie Roberts on   01248 723809  Remember, this section will only work if the members are prepared to put in the time and effort.
